What we collect

Browsing this site does not require an account and we do not ask you to submit personal details to read any page. When you contact us by email, phone, or WhatsApp, we hold whatever you send us, typically your name, contact details, travel dates, and the substance of your message. When you make a reservation, our booking system collects the booking details it needs to hold and honour the stay: guest name, contact details, arrival and departure dates, party size, payment authorisation, and any requests you add.

Why we use it

We use reservation and enquiry data to answer you, to make and manage the booking, to meet accommodation record-keeping and tax obligations, and to handle payments and disputes. We use anonymous, aggregated website statistics to understand which pages and rooms people look at, so we can improve the site. We do not sell personal data, and we do not run advertising or remarketing trackers on this site.

Who processes it for us

• Cloudbeds, our booking engine and property management system, which processes reservations and payment authorisations.
• Google Analytics 4, which produces aggregated website usage statistics using cookies and similar identifiers.
• Vercel, which hosts this website and keeps short-lived technical request logs, including IP addresses.
• Google Workspace, which carries our email correspondence.

These providers act on our instructions and operate under their own published terms and privacy notices.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets Google Analytics cookies to count visits and measure which pages and booking links are used. That measurement is reported to us in aggregate; it is not used to build advertising profiles. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with a content blocker, and the site will continue to work normally. Nothing on this site requires cookies in order to read it.

How long we keep it

Reservation records are kept for as long as accommodation, accounting, and tax rules require, then deleted. Enquiries that do not turn into a booking are kept only as long as we may still need to answer or refer back to them. Aggregated analytics data is retained under the retention period configured in Google Analytics.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email info@merakiicuracao.com and we will respond directly. If you are contacting us from the European Union or the Netherlands, tell us so and we will handle the request under the rules that apply to you.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
